XP to Vista PC @ Mister Brazil

XP Vista

In this tutorial I will teach the basics to "transform" your Windows XP into Vista. In the blog you can find some more programs, track and download.

Requirements:

- Windows XP Home or Professional (SP2 recommended)

- 256 RAM (recommended 512 MB or more)

- 30 MB HD (for storage of programs)

- 800 MHz or higher (recommended 1 GHz or more)

Step 1 - The Theme

I give you the XPVista, one of the best Visual Styles Windows Vista. Made by Bruno Luiz (The Master Bruno). Although this downloadable version is newer than the one I use (see picture above) I'm sure that the younger the better.

(note: it is only now being made available as Pack)

Step 2 - Toolbar

I selected two of the best skins for the program styler in the package to download the program will Styler skins and Aero Basic and Windows Vista.

To install them, enable the styler toolbar in Explorer and disable the address and the standard buttons.

Go to the options Styler (on the same), select "Open the skin directory and the folder will open, including in the" Styler's "and paste in your skins folder (inside the" skins "). To go back to select options Styler, and "skins" select one of the skins of Windows Vista.

Step 3 - Wallpapers

I made a selection of wallpapers (wallpapers) of VTP7 (Vista Transformation Pack 7).

They are (at least in my opinion) the best walls of Vista, quite complete, with versions Wide and Full (4:3) Screen.

Step 4 - Aero Glass

The TrueTransparency is one of the best programs that mimic the effect Glass (glass) Vista (transparent borders). And the best: it's free! The download link comes with some skins, most others can be downloaded. The program is leading to, since this effect uses, usually quite against the machine. It is recommended to have a 3D video card, to get the optimal effect.

Step 5 - Cursors

Between the arrows, chose BlackSpins Unlimited Series V3 Black Edition, since, despite its name is fragmented in that box, it's great because not only is the green-water standards, also has the color gray, dark blue, yellow, green, orange, pink, purple and red. It also has versions transparent and opaque.

Step 6 - Fixed Start

In my opinion, the Blaere is one of the best programs to "jump" the orb start button. I put to download version 1, because I find it more well done than to 2. It has two versions: one for the taskbar normal one for the large bar.

Step 7 - Thumbnails on the taskbar

The program Visual TooolTip is almost perfect. It has transparency at the edges of the image window.

Step 8 - Sounds of Windows Vista

I made an installer for the sounds of WinRAR, which automatically puts the sounds of Vista as standard, not having to configure or sound by sound, not even change the sound scheme.

Step 9 - Screensavers

I made a selection of 4 popular screen savers in Windows Vista. Simply unzip and click the right button on the screen savers and select "Install".

Step 10 - Transparency in taskbar and clock

(note: the text is just a watermark image)

The TClock provides the opportunity to make the taskbar transparent and make changes on the clock.

Step 11 - Start Menu

The program ViStart perfectly reproduces the start menu of Windows Vista, including the research. I translated it and I am available for download. In Portuguese of Brazil (backup in English).

Step 12 - Boot Screen

I selected four screens boot wallpapers for BootSkin. What is the best copy "Vista for XP". The most beautiful, but is the "Vista Blue Orb.

You must download the program (link below)

(program BootSkin)

Step 13 - System Information

This program simulates the system information in Windows Vista, including glass.

Very good and well done.

Step 14 - Icons

I compress icons VTP6, are very good and very similar to those of Vista. To use them, modify the "Shell32.dll" with Resource Hacker and replace it with the Replacer.

If you have a pack of processing with automated installation (eg VTP), as so you do not know how to use Replacer.

Note: To run Replacer, enter in safe mode.

Step 15 - Flip 3D

The WinFlip, as many already know, is a great free program that emulates the Windows Flip 3D Vista in XP. It has been translated by me, and today, my translation is official (something very satisfying for me).

Download it:

Step 16 - Sidebar

(PS: Sorry for the old photo xD)

There is a good time is available to real bar of Windows Vista to Windows XP. She was removed from Windows Vista itself. To install it with all the features, you must have a serial Windows Vista RC, but it also works without the serial.

To install it, follow the instructions in the TXT file that comes with the same

Step 17 - Logon Screen

The Logon screen "Vista Default Login", created by Raul, the BlogWindows, is one of the best logon screens for Vista. In terms of "parecidez" (invented a new verb, hehe), also has versions with various backgrounds.

Vista Default Login 8:

Final Step - Conclusion

We have just finished the transformation of the system, but you can still improve, with other programs. I did not put all here, only better, because the list would be very extensive.

You should now be with the PC much like Windows Vista, a Windows expert with a new and pretty Vista.

I hope you enjoyed ;) .
